memorial weekend

memorial weekend was pretty good. the lan party Friday was pretty fun. i was content playing wolf 3d all night but other people wanted to try battlefield 1942. it took them like 2 hours to get that set up for everyone. we ended up playing till 4:30am or so. i didn't get to sleep till 6am that night. the next day, my brother was supposed to go back to bmt. he had come up to austin for the party. however, he ended up staying for another night. our attempts at getting another lan party going that night failed miserably but we figured something else out instead.

our friend eric came out to our place and we had six computers ready to play wolf 3d but we only had 4 at the condo. my brother and his friend were able to figure out how to login and join our game so that made 6 all together. we played a couple of 2 v 4 games until 4:30am again. my brother and jeremy are a pretty good team. jeremy is an excellent sniper and john is efficient at assaults.

Sunday morning, my brother left. jeremy didn't get up till well after noon. we called our friends up and somehow got everyone together for a picnic up north. we brought hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, condiments, brownies, and a frisbee. it took us a while to get the barbeque pit going because it had no vents to allow airflow. once we got a miniature hand held fan infront of it, the coals finally got hot. mmmm... then the bbq was underway.. yummmmy! after we stuffed ourselves, we played frisbee in the park for an hour or so. i suck at it. jeremy was throwing the thing under his legs and catching it backwards. i'd toss the thing out and it would go in the opposite direction.

after the exercise, we stopped by this snow cone shack that was in the park. i got a strawberry snow cone. it actually wasn't a snow cone but shaved ice..which is ten times better. it was delicious. i can't believe how much they charge for ice though! it's a scam.

the guys ended up playing risk till late that night. i headed back home and unloaded the picnic stuff, took a shower, and played some wolf-3d single player.
