crawfish, ice cream cake, steak

finished up school last Friday. jeremy and i went back to boremont this weekend to visit the folks. we celebrated mother's day and my brother's birthday on Sunday. we had crawfish and some yummy ice cream cake. i didn't do much otherwise.

i watched some playoff NBA games and did some shopping for presents. it's always weird going home because its got a part of me that i have pretty much left behind. it's funny because we passed by a billboard on the way home that said Beaumont, the RIGHT side of Texas... i kept thinking it should say Beaumont, the WHITE side of Texas. hehehe. It's not that small of a town..roughly over 100,000 people. We've got all the major chain restaurants, shopping centers, and even going to get its own hockey team. there's just something so simple about the place...like you know if you live there you have settled for living out your life quietly..complacent...content..the rest of the world can revolve around and it doesn't really matter.

anyhow. on Sunday, we boiled crawfish in the backyard and played frisbee. afterwards, we had cake and opened presents..both for mother's day and for my brother's bday..they happened to be on the same day this year. my brother is 20 years old. it's so weird. he's my kid brother and he's no longer a teenager..which makes me OLD. hahah.

today when we got back to Austin, Jeremy took me out to eat at OUTBACK with our friend Eric. He had promised to get me steak to celebrate me finishing this semester off.
i stuffed myself silly! i had the steak and veggie griller. it was a steak medallion on a bed of rice topped with pineapple, mushrooms, onions, and green stuff. mmmm..
sorry you veggie thrillers.. i love my cow.

after we finished, we stopped at blockbusters and rented Darkness Falls. it was your scary flick... some supernatural bitch going on a terror run and stupid victims making stupid mistakes and getting themselves killed. horror movies and romantic comedies are all the same. they require you to lower your intelligence level a few notches in order to enjoy them. if you can't do that..you're sol.

i'm downloading episode one of animatrix right now. i'v never seen them. heard they were good. www.theanimatrix.com
