well to , I actually didn't like Ghost World all that much. I rented the movie because and anhedonia raved about it so much..so I was rather suprised when it fell short of my expectations. It was a little too slow developing for my taste and the plot seemed way too morose..even for me. it just kept pressing this issue of how much life sucks. I agree that the other characters should have been developed more. Josh and Rebecca kind of got lost midway through the show. The beauty of the movie is the character development of Enid and Seymour. Those two characters make and break the show. Steve Bushemi is yet again..the stereotypical American badass weirdo. He's my hero too. I love eccentric sociophobic character types. Thora Birch plays Enid..the self righteous bitch who kind of reminds me of the worst in me. Watching her pathetic plays at making others wallow in her misery..really made me want to kill myself. I'm not sure if I wanted to slap her or cuddle her..because she's so LOST.. awesome clothes though. I guess I just don't understand how she's finally resolved in following her artistic heart..when i never got what her artistic vision is..

Pros: Style, whitty sarcasm, art, sketching, obsessive compulsive behavior, pessimism
Cons: Whining, Bitching, lack of intrigue, lack of other characters development

Of course.. for some odd reason I thought this movie was going to be a murder mystery.. then after reading the back of the box..i was expecting a comedy..and ended up getting a drama with dark comic overtones.. how did i get off on such a wrong start???!

did i miss something here?
